Abstract

• In December 2017, Sumatera Utara NTP Province (2012 = 100) was recorded at 99.14 or down 0.51 percent compared to November 2017 NTP of 99.65.

• Decrease of NTP December 2017 caused by the decrease of NTP in Food Crop sub-sector by 0,73 percent, and Sub sector of Plantation Plantation equal to 1,27 percent. While the Horticulture subsector rose by 0.58 percent, Livestock subsector rose by 0.15 percent, and fisheries sub-sector rose by 0.93 percent.

• Changes in Household Consumption Index (IKRT) reflect the rate of rural inflation / deflation. In December 2017, there was a rural inflation rate in North Sumatra of 0.82 percent. This was due to an increase in the index of all household consumption groups, namely the foodstuff index by 1.48 percent, the index of the finished food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 0.33 percent, the housing group index by 0.22 percent, the group index clothing by 0.61 percent, health group index by 0.17 percent, education, recreation and sports group index by 0.23 percent, and transportation and communication group index by 0.21 percent.

• Agricultural Household Trade Rate (NTUP) of Sumatera Utara Province December 2017 was 107.92 or decreased 0.02 percent compared to NTUP in the previous month.
